Amazing Lace Challenge #6

The final challenge for the Amazing Lace is to find an unlikely model for your project. Well, it's very lucky I live here in Maine, because I found Bullwinkle hanging out downtown:
As you can see, he was more than happy to let me use his antlers to model my Flirty Ruffles shawl. What a sport!
My lace is now as wide as a set of moose antlers...now that's impressive, huh?

Well, it was a great summer of amazing lace-ing...still got a ways to go on this sucker but the knit-along was a great push for me to try something large and complex. Thanks to the hosts of the Amazing Lace!

Amazing Lace: Challenge #4

If I had to bind off my project right now, what could it be used for?
A lampshade fit for a boudoir seems to capitalize on the "flirty" personality:
And as a bonus, this lovely lamp shows off the lace pattern in a way that I can't acheive otherwise (since it mostly looks like a shriveled black blob).
This challenge entry is pretty lame, but hey, I'm busy packing! Off to Colorado for a long weekend.
Be back next week!

Amazing Lace: X-treme Lace Knitting

So, I'm not really an "extreme sports" kind of gal. Yeah, there was the short-lived mountain biking phase in college, and I actually went white-water rafting last summer (see the photos here...our group is the top six photos, I'm the last person back on the left side). But you won't ever find me bungee jumping, sky-diving, heli-skiing, or diving off cliffs.

So I knew that for the extreme knitting challenge, I was gonna have to go old-school. Hence:
That's right, extreme roller skating lace knitting.
I know you're all impressed.

There's just one thing missing. I
really need to whip up some pom-poms from leftover yarn to put on these skates.
